Lady Of Songs

It hurts me to see a legendary icon go so soon.

African music icon, Christy Essien Igbokwe most famous for her major hit in the 80s, Seun Rere, has been confirmed dead. The “Lady of Songs” as popularly known passed today after a brief illness.

Multiple sources including her Husband, and her Son (Kaka), who is also a musician, have confirmed the passing of the star.

The late musician was the first president of the Performing Musicians’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

Her last major outing was at the finale of Nigerian Idol in March.

The singer and actress released her first album Freedom in 1976 at age 16.

Her other albums include Patience, Time Waits for No One (both 1978), One Understanding (1979), Give Me A Chance (1980), and Ever Liked My Person (1981) which remains her best LP till date.

RIP Mama Essien-Igbokwe, God bless your wonderful soul. Amen

M-Kaze f. Duncan Mighty – Why E Be Sey | ExClusive

Frankly, I thought of such collaboration sometime ago when M-Kaze dropped his Do Good music video and Duncan who recently released the web hit America and I wondered about how amazing it will be if both popular PH acts eventually make it happen. Just as if my mind was read, here’s an M-Kaze & Duncan Mighty track! Why E Be Sey, an enjoyable number, danceable as well, plus the conscious lyrics of the song which gets one wondering how tight-fisted some of these rich people can be at times. Probably alot of people have previously abused your help, but remember ye this quote from the Scriptures “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. Feel the music.

Eva Alordiah dropped this not quite long ago, she’s set to take over the female rap scene though competition has grown stronger with the likes of Kel, Blaise..more effort should do it. One thing I like about this chick is that she pulls no punches with her raunchy looks and skilled lyrical delivery. Eva’s GIGO EP will be dropping soon. Can’t wait.
