E-Gnyte Shoots “Koko Ti Koko” Music Video w/o LKT
A couple of months back, E-Gnyte unleashed the smash single Koko Ti Koko which featured LKT. And upon its release as a promotional single, the song received good reviews from music critics, most of whom labelled it “radio/club friendly” leading to its current airplay success across the country.
E-Gnyte had been due to shoot the video for “Koko Ti Koko” with LKT at a location in Ikeja on Monday (August 6th).
LKT showed up on the day of the shoot but deliberately refrained from performing his part of the song. On further questioning to ascertain the reason for the abrupt behavior, he made demands for cash payment before making an appearance in the video.
In the statement released today by the Ekobeat Records’ artist, he reveals that the video was shot without LKT and that a new LKT-free Koko Ti Koko song has been released. Read E-Gnyte’s statement below.
Basically, LKT had agreed to come for the video shoot, infact he turned up for the video shoot at the location in Ikeja, then took pictures with me and said he was going to get changed to take his part, next he mysteriously left the location and switched off his phone. The video shoot carried on without him.
The next day, my manager called him to find out why he acted in such an unprofessional manner. He then started making demands that we should give him N250 000 to appear in the video.
Based on all of this, I was determined not to have my video marred by anyone trying to hold me to ransom so I suggested to my management that I would like to replace the second verse with a new verse that I had written, fortunately they agreed and so we went back to the studio and the result is the song below.
Really, to me, this song has a lot of history and I am just using it to spread or reinforce the message that “you can’t hold a good thing down”…Wetin go be go be!!
And for those wanting that new version, you can grab it here.
